If you are looking for the most crowded place in Europe, Venice is it.
But if you keep on walking past Saint Mark's Square away from the people,
you can still catch a bit of Venice life.

The architecture and the canals themselves are, of course, amazing.

If you want to appreciate St. Mark's Square (Piazza San Marco ) you have to go in the early morning.
In the afternoon it doesn't look like this.

But the whole damn thing is sinkin'.

You've got to walk the plank to get to the boat.

A year and a half since we left home and Brian's parents (John and Diane Schaller) had to go all the way to Italy to see us.
Here they are.  Thanks for the gondola ride ma and pa.

Here's some other relatives, Renata (Brian's father's sister) and husband Micheal Robertson.
They drove us down from Augsburg, Germany to see my parents.

It was a grand old reunion of family and friends. 
Here's Jim Allen a friend who's been close to the Schallers since Brian was a wee baby. 
He traveled to Italy with John and Diane.
